A drug discovery innovator in Cambridge is looking for a senior Research Biologist to join their research team.
This is an excellent opportunity where you will be able to make a real difference with your work, developing products that aim to improve the patient’s life, taking therapeutics from inception all the way through to clinical trials.
You will be utilising your mitochondrial biology expertise to develop new efficacious medicines that will transform the lives of the patients. You will be the mitochondria subject matter expert within the team and will be working closely with chemists and other biologists on new research projects.
Reporting directly to the CSO you will be afforded with the freedom and autonomy to make this role your own and will be provided with all the tools you need to be a success in this position.
The company’s target time to market is two to three years and they are well backed by their parent organisation. This means that you get all the benefits and fun of working in a start-up, coupled with long-term security. You will be working in collaboration with academic partners and the company’s parent organisation which has a site on the US East Coast.
The company are also looking at new ways to implement microfluidic technology and machine learning algorithms to speed up processes and improve accuracy.
To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following;
- Expertise within mitochondrial biology and human disease.
- PhD-level education with strong laboratory skills.
- Experience with a variety of laboratory equipment and techniques such as; NGS, Flow cytometry, DNA/RNA extraction and PCR/qPCR.
