Position title
Recent PhD Graduate - Engineering Physicist – Electrical Device Physics
Description

A truly interesting role for a recent PhD Graduate Experimental Physicist to apply Electrical Device Physics to practical problems in the development of a brand-new complex technology.  Based in Cambridge, walking distance from Cambridge City Centre, you will be applying your hands-on practical physicist experience in new complex electro-mechanical technologies for the scientific sector.

I’m using the term ‘Engineering Physicist’ as it is important for you to have had hands-on engineering exposure, this is not a theoretical or computational based role.  Specific experience packaging, testing and developing an electrical based technology will be essential.

Although we are looking for a recent PhD Graduate, we are happy to consider people with a couple of years of industry experience or a post-doc position.

You will be working with scientists, engineers and other physicists in developing this technology.  Due to the scientific nature of the work, past experience on biophysics or microfluidic systems will be highly advantageous.

This company are still at a stage where they are offering successful applicants’ equity in the business, yet they have the funding in place to offer benefits that you would expect at a large organisation, including pension, medical cover and life assurance.  Funding has been secured for the next few years, offering more job security than more organisations can offer at the moment.

Despite the COVID-19 situation making interviewing difficult, this company are still interviewing via video conference technology, making offers and getting people to start work.  So, if you are interested in this role, it is worth applying now rather than waiting for the current situation to change.

It is expected that you would hold a PhD in Experimental Physics or another related field that has resulted in you applying practical applications of your physicist skills one electro-mechanical technologies.

I’m expecting a lot of interest in this role and due to this I suggest you make an application now or risk missing out.
