A pioneer of biotechnology products in Cambridge are looking for a principal biochemical assay scientist to complement their research team.

This is an excellent opportunity where you will be able to make a real difference with your work, developing novel medicines that aim to improve the patient’s life, taking therapeutics from inception all the way through to clinical trials.

You will be utilising your biochemical assay development expertise to take lead on the creation of new, novel biochemical assays, in particular assays for enzyme activity, kinetics, and Protein-DNA interactions. This will include utilising techniques such as surface plasmon resonance, whilst working on thermostability and LC-MS.

Reporting directly to the CSO you will be afforded with the freedom and autonomy to make this role your own and will be provided with all the tools you need to be a success in this position.

The company are also looking at new ways to implement microfluidic technology and machine learning algorithms to speed up processes and improve accuracy.

To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following;

  • Expertise with developing biochemical assays
  • Experience with developing enzyme kinetic assays from scratch
  • Knowledge of medium to high throughput assays, quality control and validation.
  • ELISA, EMSA and pre-existing SPR knowledge is extremely beneficial.
