Newton Colmore Consulting is working with a drug discovery innovator in Cambridge that has created a new role for a medicinal chemist to join their research team.

This is an excellent opportunity where you will be able to make a real difference with your work, developing products that aim to improve the patient’s life, taking therapeutics from inception all the way through to clinical trials.

You will be utilising your synthetic chemistry and drug discovery expertise to hunt for new drugs and to work on research projects that will aim to build upon a successful portfolio of therapeutics. The company’s target time to market is two to three years and they are well backed by their parent organisation. This means that you get all the benefits of working in a start-up environment, coupled with long-term security. You will also be collaborating with academic partners and the company’s parent organisation which has a site on the US East Coast.

The company are also looking at new ways to implement microfluidic technology and machine learning algorithms to speed up processes and improve accuracy.

This role will be reporting directly to the department head and you will be given freedom and guidance to make a real success of the role.

To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following;

• Experience working on drug discovery projects
• A background in synthetic chemistry and interpreting large-scale and diverse data sets.
• Ideally PhD-level educated in synthetic or medicinal chemistry.
• Any experience working with CROs would be beneficial.
