A renowned medical devices firm based in Cambridge are looking to expand their R&D division by bringing on board a talented Human Factors Engineer.

For this role we are looking for people who love solving complex design problems and who enjoy working in multi-disciplinary teams.

As a Human Factors Engineer, you will be working on several advanced engineering projects aimed at improving and/or saving people’s lives. You will be utilising your human factors knowledge and experience and apply it to real-world, invasive, and hand-held medical devices. This could range from working on drug delivery devices, making them as user-friendly as possible, through to surgical robotic systems, researching into both patient needs, and healthcare professionals needs.

You will be working closely with world-class engineers as well as surgeons, nurses and healthcare professionals, to ensure their feedback is translated into the usability of the product. The aim of your work is to improve the usability of the product, which will in turn lower the risk to patients.

To be considered for this exciting role you will understand human factors principles as well as having knowledge of the medical devices sector, coupled with strong academics in product design, human factors or psychology. You will also need to possess an open mind and show that you like to challenge ideas and that you can draw meaningful conclusions from user research and feedback.
