In this exciting new role, you will be leading the development of complex bioinformatic algorithms, databases and tools that will have a direct effect on the company’s future research and development programmes. You will be working alongside data engineers, biologists, chemists, and software engineers as a part of a multidisciplinary team within a company that are aiming to provide a significant scientific advancement with their technology.

As the head of the team, you will be providing both technical and people leadership coupled with leading the strategy for both department growth and the evolution of the technology you will be working on. The team will incorporate data science, bioinformatics, and AI functions and so it is important you have experience within all three of these areas.

We are looking for a candidate who has previously led bioinformatics projects and has strong coding skills with python, ideally within a machine learning and biotech setting. Ideally the candidate would have prior knowledge of genomics and next generation sequencing.
