Due to the development of a brand-new autonomous vehicle technology, we are currently looking for an experienced Optical Physicist who has specifically worked on LiDAR Systems.
The company is Based in Edinburgh in a start-up environment, backed by a larger company in the US, they offer a start-up feel with the job security of a large company.
The technology they have developed is going to be used in a wide range of autonomous vehicle technology around the globe, meaning they need to make sure the technology works perfectly. To make sure the technology works perfectly, they need a Physicist or Test Engineer to help with the testing procedures.
This is going to be an exciting role for an experienced Physicist or Test Engineer who can push the technology to its limits and try to break it. We need someone with a good knowledge of LiDAR Systems, electronics, physics, engineering, and software principles.
To succeed in this role, you will be preparing test plans/rigs, writing/presenting findings, problem finding/solving, and other complex and challenging duties.
It is expected that you would hold a PhD within physics, electronics, sensors, photonics, optics or another field that has led you into experimental physics or testing.
