An expanding engineering company, based in the Cambridgeshire area, are looking for a technology leader to work as a complex systems electronics design consultant and take responsibility for the delivery of vital design projects.
This company’s growth depends on the success of this role, specifically the delivery of design projects on products that can help in a range of sectors. The type of technologies this company invents are focused on sensors development for products that will operate in harsh environments.
The projects you will lead will be for technologies that are low volume – high value, ideally you will have a track record of delivering these types of designs to the oil & gas, defence, scientific, energy, robotics, automation and other fields that rely on technologies that can operate in harsh environments.
By ‘harsh environments’ we mean places or activities that most technologies would have massive problems, this could be deep sea, Antarctic, space, desert, high temperature, stealth and other area that have complex mathematical or physics problems with technology development.
Although you will be leading projects in this role we are not looking for someone who is a career project manager, you will need to still be able to work hands on with the electronics design or physics development of technologies.
As this role is vital for the company’s growth it is expected that you will be the technical guru that people come to for answers, normally people in this role would have a number of years’ experience in industry or acting as a consultant for a university working with the commercial sector. On top of this experience you would need to hold a degree from a leading university for electronics, physics, robotics, sensors or any other relevant field. If you also hold a PhD this would be beneficial but not essential.
The success you have in this role will be rewarded with an excellent salary, benefits package, career progression and the chance to develop mind blowing technologies that most people have never even thought of. This is the type of role that would appeal to inventive minded people looking to test their skills and wanting to learn new areas of technical knowledge.
